North Norfolk

For those keen to explore the surrounding area, North Norfolk has many attractions and beautiful places to visit.

The nearest sizeable town is Holt, a historic and handsome Georgian town with excellent shops and restaurants.  It includes one of the Norfolk’s oldest department stores, Bakers and Larners, which is well worth a visit.

The North Norfolk Poppy Railway runs between Holt and Sheringham, a very picturesque journey that has featured in many films.

North Norfolk has miles and miles of stunning walks on deserted beaches.  Holkham Beach is apparently a favourite of the Queen.  For small children, the rock pools at West Runton provide hours of entertainment.

Sheringham, Cromer and Wells are all attractive places with many typical seaside things to do and see – beaches, pitch and putt, fish and chips, amusements, swimming pools, cinema, end of the pier show, carnivals, etc.  Burnham Market is another great place to visit, with over 30 highly original independent and specialist shops.

There are a huge number of great places to eat and drink in North Norfolk, including a Michelin-starred restaurant, fantastic cafes, great pubs serving home-cooked food, seafood shacks and lovely restaurants.

Whatever your interests, you’ll find plenty to see and do in this beautiful part of the country.
